📋 Important Regional & Carrier Restrictions

⚠️ Device compatibility may vary by country and regional carrier specifications.
⚠️ iPhones manufactured for mainland China feature two physical nano-SIM slots and DO NOT support eSIM (with limited iPad exceptions).
⚠️ iPhones purchased in Hong Kong and Macao generally do not support eSIM, except for iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone SE (2020/2022), and iPhone XS.
⚠️ Your phone must be completely unlocked from your home network carrier. Contact your network provider if your phone is locked.
💡 US iPhone 14, 15, and 16 models are eSIM-only with no physical SIM slot and support up to 8 eSIM profiles.

Frequently Asked Questions About eSIM Devices

Everything you need to know about compatibility, dual SIM, and carrier unlocking.

How do I know if my smartphone supports eSIM?

The fastest universal method is to open your phone keypad and dial *#06#. If an EID (32-digit code or barcode) appears on your screen, your device contains an eSIM chip. You can also check in Settings under Cellular/Mobile Data or SIM Manager for an "Add eSIM" option.

Does my phone have to be carrier unlocked to use Hi eSIM?

Yes. Your device must be unlocked from carrier restrictions. On an iPhone, verify this in Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock (it must say "No SIM restrictions"). On Android, contact your carrier if purchased on a contract.

Do iPhones from China, Hong Kong, or Macao support eSIM?

iPhones from mainland China come with two physical nano-SIM slots and do not support eSIM. Most iPhones from Hong Kong and Macao also lack eSIM, except for specific compact models such as iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone SE (2nd/3rd gen).

Can I use a physical SIM and an eSIM at the same time (Dual SIM)?

Yes! Most eSIM-compatible phones allow you to keep your primary physical SIM card active for calls and SMS from home, while using your Hi eSIM for fast, affordable international data abroad.

How many eSIM profiles can I store on one device?

Most modern devices (such as iPhone 13 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S23/S24, and Pixel 7/8/9) can store between 5 to 10 eSIM profiles and allow 2 eSIMs (or 1 physical SIM + 1 eSIM) to be active simultaneously.
